Sometimes mental instability is out of our control. But we have a choice to hold on, continuing to suffer by it, or to let change and growth heal it.

Derek – Ominous Communication

Derek is the story of a young single mother who’s unrestful night deteriorates after waking up in her child’s bed to the sound of something deeper in the house.

Ominous communication are made up of Anna and Finn: a pair of filmmaking horror-loving gals. Largely balancing each other out with opposing credits and roles on set we come together in tandem to create unique and interesting experiences. The ultimate horror power-couple

Clubhouse – Kobenaboo Productions

In Clubhouse, Tom (Played by Tom Kereama) is a man looking for answers. Sam (Played by Sam Hearps) might hold those answers. But the house she is in has oth- er ideas. Can Tom find what he is looking for or will the Clubhouse find another member. (And yes, we know the names aren’t exactly imaginative. It was a rough day when we came up with those)

Kobenaboo Productions is a small group of filmmakers that do all sorts of things from Music videos, to small scale commercial work, to short films. None of us are full time filmmakers but between us we have been doing this for over 10 years.
We entered this competition because it has been a while since we did a project just for fun. There were more than a few hurdles to making ‘Clubhouse’. There were the usual things like scheduling, make-up, and set construction. Then there were the unusual things like our lead actor developing Bell’s Palsy part way through the shoot (Which is a form of temporary paralysis). Fortunately he got better with enough time to finish filming.

All up, 12 members of Kobenaboo productions helped out on this film. With our disjointed production it was a challenge to juggle the roles and everyone’s avail- ability. But that is something this team does well and I am very proud of them.

At Home With Evil – Mike Heynes & Simon Cuming

We poured the contents of our skulls into a collective blender to bring the story of what really goes on behind the closed door of our government.

Panandalian,,, Pagkawala; Nadula – Sophia Frankass, Frudd

Roughly translating from tagalog and Ilonggo, to “temporary,,, loss;missing.”, is about the birth of a tulpa; through the will of a self-destructive, inwardly bigoted person as a means of escape from the traps of masculinity.
